Chip Unlocked iPhone
chip unlocked iPhone is the one that is locked to a mobile network/carrier. The locked iPhone can be unlocked with the use of a chip known as SIM. The resulting device becomes a chip-unlocked iPhone.
What the chip does is this; When it is inserted, it bypass the network lock and enables the iPhone to use other mobile networks. For instance: An iPhone that is locked to a foreign mobile network (e.g sprint or T-mobile) will not be usable in Nigeria with mobile networks like MTN, GLO, Airtel etc.
In this case, a chip (RSIM) is used to unlock the iPhone so that your mobile network(like mtn, glo) can work on the locked iPhone.
The unlocking procedure goes as follows:
- Place your SIM (MTN, Airtel, GLO, or any other networks) on the chip or RSIM, (the RSIM has the exact shape and size of a nano SIM card. See second slide)
- Insert the two together into your iPhone sim tray
- DONE, You will now see your network. Easy
When you have carried out this process, your device will work like a factory-unlocked iPhone so long your SIM card is on the Chip (RSIM). Do you have any other question?
